Damson Rest in the snow.

We don’t see much snow in the Midlands. When snow does fall the cameras come out to record the scene. This picture of our home was taken on 30 December, 2001.

The Severn Valley Railway.

On new-year’s day 2002 we traveled the short distance to the Severn Valley railway, which runs between Bridgnorth and Bewdley in Shropshire. Our friends and neighbours, Alan and Judy Jackson can be seen in this photograph, together with Kirstin.

Barnaby.

Sadly in 2002 Barnaby left us after an all too short (albeit happy) life. Everybody tends to think that their pets are special, and in his way Barnaby certainly was. A friend to all who knew him, and a regular welcome visitor to our neighbour’s house he is much missed. Click here for the Barnaby tribute page.

Grant’s graduation.

In June Grant graduated in Civil Engineering at Cardiff University. Two job offers followed at once; he is now a working man, designing road junctions, among other things!

New England Bay.

Matt and Kirstin had a spring caravanning holiday in Scotland. This included a trip to Edinburgh and New England Bay, on the Mull of Galloway. Matt has visited this location since 1962, and despite very wet weather this year, will return.

Northern France.

The main holiday this year was to France. This included the Dordonge (with visits to Bordeaux and Bergerac as well as the famous wine village of St Emilion - wonderful) as well as the Loire and Atlantic Coast. The photograph was taken near St Malo during a stay at a site close to Dinan.

The annual BBQ.

Our annual late-summer barbeque seems to become larger and more elaborate each year. All-weather provision in the garden (as can be seen) proved less than essential, but as midnight came and went, the portable heater was much appreciated.

Toby and Sophie.

Born in the cat-rescue hutch, these kittens proved to be rewarding event. All the charm that the picture suggests and great fun. Their departure on being homed was not an easy experience.
